Executive Functioning & Academic Skills Support

For learners of all ages

These sessions help students build the skills they need to feel confident and capable in their learning. Support may include:

• Organization, planning, and time management
• Study skills, test‑taking strategies, and note‑taking
• Reading and writing support (all levels)
• Math support (up to Grade 8)
• Assignment breakdowns and routine building

What this looks like in practice:
Students learn how to break tasks into manageable steps, create realistic study plans, and develop systems that actually work for them. Sessions may involve reviewing current schoolwork, practicing strategies together, building personalized tools (like planners or checklists), and reflecting on what’s working. The goal is to help students feel more in control of their learning and daily routines.

Session format:
Parents are invited to join the first 10–15 minutes of the initial session to clarify goals and share context. After that, sessions are primarily one‑on‑one with the student. Occasionally, a parent may join part of a session if collaboration supports the student’s goals.

School Navigation, Transitions & Advocacy

For students navigating school systems or preparing for post‑secondary

These sessions support students and families in understanding school expectations and transitions. Support may include IEP review and advocacy, course planning and school routines, assignment breakdowns and communication strategies, transition support (e.g., new schools, grade changes), and university or college application guidance.

What this looks like in practice: We may review school documents together, map out upcoming transitions, or create a plan for communicating with teachers. For students preparing for post–secondary, sessions can include organizing application requirements, building timelines, and breaking down tasks into manageable steps. The focus is always on clarity, confidence, and helping students feel capable within their school system.

Session format: Primarily student–focused, with parent involvement included when collaboration is helpful.

Parent Support & Collaboration

For parents and caregivers

These sessions offer a dedicated space to explore your child’s learning needs and your role in supporting them. Support may include:
• Executive functioning strategies for home
• Navigating school communication and IEPs
• Understanding your child’s learning profile
• Creating routines and reducing conflict
• Planning for transitions or next steps
• Collaborative problem-solving around school challenges

What this looks like in practice:
Parents can bring questions, concerns, or specific situations they’d like support with — whether it’s homework struggles, communication with teachers, or building routines that actually stick. Together, we explore practical strategies, clarify expectations, and develop approaches that fit your family’s values and daily life. These sessions help parents feel grounded, informed, and confident in how they support their learner, while also strengthening the home–school connection.

Session format:
These sessions are for parents and caregivers only. Students do not attend

Tutoring

I offer individualized tutoring for children and teens who benefit from clear instruction, steady encouragement, and a calm, structured learning environment. Sessions focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math while helping students understand concepts deeply and feel more confident in their abilities.

Tutoring is tailored to each learner’s needs and pace. I break down skills into manageable steps, teach strategies that make schoolwork feel more accessible, and create a supportive space where students can ask questions, practice new skills, and experience success. My approach is relationship‑based, patient, and grounded in evidence‑informed teaching practices.

Parents receive brief updates so they know what we’re working on and how to support learning at home. The goal is always the same: to help students feel capable, prepared, and proud of their progress.
