Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you work with?

I support learners of all ages — from early elementary through high school — as well as parents and caregivers seeking guidance. Math support is offered up to Grade 8.

What happens in a typical session?

Sessions are personalized based on your learner’s needs. We may review schoolwork, build routines, practice strategies, or break down assignments together. The goal is always to help students feel more organized, confident, and capable.

How long are sessions?

All sessions are 50 minutes, which allows time afterward for updating files, documenting progress, and preparing thoughtfully for the next session.

Can parents join sessions?

Parents join the first 10–15 minutes of the initial session to share context and goals. After that, sessions are primarily one‑on‑one with the student. Parents may join briefly when collaboration supports the student’s progress. Parent Support & Collaboration sessions are for caregivers only.

Do you work with neurodiverse learners?

Yes. I have extensive experience supporting neurodiverse students and working within the IEP process. My approach is strengths‑based, collaborative, and tailored to each learner.

Do you assign homework?

Sometimes — but only when it’s helpful. Any between‑session tasks are simple, manageable, and designed to support the student’s goals, not add stress.

Do you communicate with teachers or schools?

I don’t communicate directly with teachers or schools, but I focus on supporting parents with school communication so they can navigate those conversations with confidence. This often includes drafting emails together, clarifying what to ask for, and building communication strategies that feel clear, calm, and collaborative. My goal is to empower parents with the tools and language they need to advocate effectively and independently.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. Sessions are available in‑person at a dedicated Vancouver location or virtually, depending on your preference.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for 48 hours’ notice for a full refund and 24 hours’ notice for a 50% refund. This helps keep scheduling fair and consistent for all families. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed at the full rate. I also understand that life happens — illness, emergencies, and unexpected situations come up. If something urgent arises, please reach out. I’m always open to a conversation and will do my best to be flexible while maintaining clear, respectful boundaries.

What if I’m not sure which service is the right fit?

You’re welcome to book a complimentary 20‑minute consultation. It’s a chance to ask questions, share your goals, and explore what support might look like — with no pressure to commit.

What if I need support that isn’t listed?

Please reach out. Support is always personalized, and I’m happy to discuss whether I can help or guide you toward the right next step.
